'Eurosceptics are not wrong' Verhofstadt makes SHOCK claim about impending EU 'disaster'

ARCH europhile Guy Verhofstadt has made a shock admission that “eurosceptics are not wrong” when they criticise the European Union and the bloc’s failings.

The senior Belgian MEP called for radical EU reforms during the launch of French President Emmanuel Macron’s En Marche Europe launch in Brussels.

Mr Verhofstadt has been a staunch critic of Brexit, however, recognised the concerns shown by Brexiteers and Leave voters in June 2016.

The former Belgian prime minister demanded change after the two largest parliamentary groups – the EPP and S&D – failed to deliver.

He warned of incoming “disaster” within the next decade if the EU fails to reform itself.

Mr Verhofstadt told the Brussels audience: “The refoundation of the EU is necessary because let’s face it, eurosceptics are not wrong when they criticise the EU.

“The problem with eurosceptics are the recipes they offer afterwards.

“When they say that the EU is not working at all or that it’s working badly, they are right.

“When you have something like Brexit and Great Britain leaves the eu, we can not say it is a success.
